Silent Conversations

I'm Callie. UT grad/Movie Addict/Book lover/Digital dabbler/sit-down comic. I love riddles, synonyms, and cookies.

Let's have a silent conversation about all the stuff you never felt important enough to say out loud.

GRAFFITI.  Bristol invests in local expression and brings outdoor art inside with their opening of a gallery focused on street art.  Way to effing go Bristol - leading world culture again and again.

Starbucks Music is awesome and I don’t care what you anti-conformists say…

I went to Starbucks this morning to get my overly-complicated iced coffee drink before heading to the train station and, alas, point-of-purchase marketing got the best of me.  I looked down and saw an album called Ghostbird by Zee Avi.  Needless to say it sounds like my kinda stuff.

Sorry anti-Starbucks-happiness-trend people…I like coffee and soft/haunting music.  Enjoy your crap-recording of your friends rooftop band.

Malcolm makes me Gladwell

Malcolm Gladwell has an uncanny way of seeing the world as if he is the only one wearing glasses with the right prescription lens.  I sped through Blink this summer and thoroughly enjoyed the read…I should expand upon this statement…I thoroughly enjoyed throwing out random bits of fact during arbitrary conversation that made me look like a sociological guru.  The man is Woody Allen if you replaced sex and new york with rational and logic.   I just visited my neighborhood Barnes and Nobles and picked up Outliers (another Gladwell baby).  I’m diving in.

Ray Lamontagne - Be Here Now

Don’t let your mind get weary and confused
Your will be still, don’t try
Don’t let your heart get heavy child
Inside you there’s a strength that lies

Don’t let your soul get lonely child
It’s only time, it will go by

Don’t look for love in faces, places
It’s in you, that’s where you’ll find kindness

Be here now, here now
Be here now, here now

Don’t lose your faith in me
And I will try not to lose faith in you
Don’t put your trust in walls
‘Cause walls will only crush you when they fall
